Kohleria 'Peridots Kitlope', on the left, is very popular for its reliability and sturdiness. Like all Kohlerias it is a rhizomatous plant. Kohleria 'Dark Velvet', second from left, is another of the popular Kohlerias. Its foliage is very dark, very handsome. Streptocarpus 'Fernwood Cherries Jubilee', third from left, is one of the more popular varieties in the Streptocarpus family with white and cherry-red blossoms. Streptocarpus 'Salmon Sunset', on the right, has beautiful coral-coloured blooms with a yellow throat.
Streptocarpus 'Butter Blues', on the left, has loads of light blue flowers with light yellow colouration in the throat. Streptocarpus 'Gator's Tail', second from the left, has delicate mauve flowers with lines in the throat. Streptocarpella 'Ellen's Dream', third from left, is a delightful plant considered to be part of the same genus as Streptocarpus on the right, but with a different growth pattern. Streptocarpella 'Concord Blue', on the right, is one of the most popular Streptocarpella varieties.
Primulina USBRG 98-083, on the left, is one of many species of Primulina. Many such as this one are multi-branched and quite bushy. Some flower frequently; others, such as this one, do not. Primulina linearaifolia, second from the left, is a multi-branched type which does flower periodically. It frequently puts our new branches. Episcia 'Temptation', third from left. Here come the Episcias. Here comes colour (some of the time). Episcia often have brightly coloured leaves with brilliant blooms as well. Temptation here with mainly red leaves and vivid red blooms with yellow centres is fairly typical. Episcia 'Suomi', on the right, also has lots of colour but quite different from some of the others. Its leaves are dark green laced with silver while the flowers are yellow.
Episcia 'Pink Brocade', on the left, is one of several Episcias that don't have the intense colour of the ones above. These ones have variegated foliage with white and pink contrasting with the green in the foliage. It still has the intense red colour in the blossom that the conventionally coloured ones often have. Episcia 'Unpredictable Valley', second from the left, is another of the variegated Episcias. The green in its leaves is slightly more pronounced than in some of the other variegates. Episcia 'Cleopatra', third from left, is probably the best know and best loved of the variegates. Note that it and the other variegates are more sensitive to low humidity than the conventionally coloured ones and are often grown under plastic domes. Episcia 'Kee Wee', on the right, is another of the colourful varieties and not a variegate.
