Group 1 -

Hyla's Little Lira, on the left, is not often seen but it pleases with its simplicity.
Mickey Mouse, second from left, is a classic oldie among miniatures with plain dark blue blooms.
Toy Castle, third from left, is a very pretty lavender double with variegated foliage.
Rob's Bunny Hop, on the right, semidouble pink flowers over variegated foliage. Nice!

Group 2 -

Optimara Little Crystal, on the left, lots of single-semidouble blossoms make this a standby for those who like white.
Rob's June Bug, second from the left, is another for the lovers of white. Foliage is variegated.
Persian Prince, third from the left, is a nice medium blue over scalloped "girl" foliage.
Little Axel, has lots of single to semidouble "thumbprint" blooms (blue patches on white background) over symmetrical foliage.

About our Gallery of Miniatures

Our photo gallery shows a selection of plants that were winners of at least a "Best-in-Class" award at one of our annual shows. Some of them won other awards as well. They reveal the growing skills that our Lakeshore AVS members have acquired over the years, at least in part, from their peers at our gatherings.

These are plants looking exactly as they did after judging of the show. Many photos in circulation about African violets do not show the plants "at work". They show them posing for a portrait in front of drapery or other formal background. We thought we would show them as you would see them at a real show ... on a table surrounded by ribbons and rosettes and show entry cards.
